CAN-2179 "Desert Rose" - Calcium sulphate Sahara Desert, Tunisia and Algeria Desert Rose is a form of Calcium sulphate. It is a form of Gypsum. The brown / sandy colour is due to particles of sand, which become trapped within it. It is classed as a sedimentary rock.
