A rare Australian grasswren confined to huge sandstone gorges and tumbled boulders intermixed with scattered shrubs and spinifex in the far north of the Kimberley in northwest Western Australia. Accessible only to those with 4WD vehicles. Discovered in 1901 and not seen again until 1968. First nest with eggs 1998. Bounds from rock to rock disappearing through crevices beneath giant boulders reappearing farther on as they move through their territory.
