WHALE SHARK - in bait ball

DSE-74
WHALE SHARK - in bait ball
Ningaloo Reef, W. Australia
Rhincodon typus
Whale Shark is the largest fish. Its a harmless, filter-feeder. The baitfish form a tight school around the whale shark as refuge from predators, in this instance from Jacks / Travally (Caranx sp.) which were attempting to feed on the baitfish.
