Male Alberts lyrebirds display all winter (breeding season) on rudimentary display mounds consisting of a few trampled sticks or low vines on the montane rainforest floor. Several alternate sites are used but there is usually a favourite used first thing in the morning. The bird stamps, quivers its tail and sings (it is a passerine), with very rich loud song and mimicry of other bird species plus other sounds. This attracts females for mating and declares the territory. Unlike the Superb lyrebird of more southern forests, which has down-curved tail
feathers that lie flat across the birds back when raised, the alberts tail feathers are unswept. When they are raised forward over the birds body in display, the down-curving forms this curious lacy shroud, inside which the bird sings and dances

Wood effect frame, card mounted, 10x8 fade resistant photo print. Overall outside dimensions 14x12 inches (36x31cm). Environmentally and ozone friendly, 40mm wide x 15mm Polycore® moulding has the look of real wood, is durable and light and easy to hang. Biodegradable and made with non-chlorinated gases (no toxic fumes) it is efficient; producing 100 tons of polystyrene can save 300 tons of trees! Prints are glazed with lightweight, shatterproof, optical clarity acrylic (providing the same general protection from the environment as glass). The back is stapled hardboard with a sawtooth hanger attached. Note: measurements provided are estimated outer dimensions, which include both the image and the frame.
