Coelophysis bauri
Coelophysis was a small carnivorous dinosaur of the Late Triassic (Chinle Formation). A Coelophysis mass mortality site was discovered at Ghost Ranch, near Abiquiu, New Mexico in 1947. The centerpiece of the Ghost Ranch Museum is an 8-ton bloc of matrix transported from the quarry. On this photo, paleontologist Lynett Gillette examines bones of Coelophysis that have been carefully exposed at the top of the block.
